They will go on the afternoon train and return on the evening train.

The next football game on the schedule is with Council Grove one week from Friday, November 6. There are but two games left on the schedule, and the boys are working hard to win both of them. This far we have lost two games and won one. The team will leave here Friday noon and drive to Council Grove, returning that evening. Mr.

Wright gave moving picture show tickets Saturday night to the pupils in his room who averaged 90 per cent or better the first stmester, and also to the football and basketball teams. The Freshies and grades had a football game last Saturday, which resulted in a tie, 13 to 13. There are several likely players in these two teams, who will form a neucleus for future teams. The girls chorus has another date at Eskridge, November 6th. It is hoped that they have better luck than on the Eskridge trip of a few weeks ago, when only a part of them succeeded in getting there.

Mr Bowden and Earl McWiiliams attended the Alma-Eskridge football game Saturday, which Alma won, 24 0. Wanted A cat. Eight mice were found in Mr. Bowden'a desk Tuesday. It would be well for the football boya toinquiie as to their grades.

The Freshman and grade football game Saturday ended with the score of 13 to 13. Charley Parkerson was absent the first of the week.

The English I class has finished the "Sketch Book" and the next classic will be "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin." Esther Carlson is taking Sophomore spelling. Sophomore Notes Earl Mc Williams was absent from school Tuesday. The Sophomores had a party at "Pealy" Amsbury 'd home last Friday night. Lena Naumeyer was absent from school three days last w'eek, on account of sickness of her mother. The Algebra II class had the long expected test Monday.

The English II class is studying the classic, "Idylls of the King." Edith Amsbury was the only Sophomore to be advanced to the Junior spelling class. Senior Notes We are glad to hear that our class party Friday night at the home of Paul msbury. It was a little early, but jther dates made it necessary to hold it at this early date. Tne guests were masked, and everjone had a fine time, such as is always had at such a gathering. Games were played and refreshments served at a late hour.

Junior Notes The English III class has finished "Macbeth" and will soon take up "Milton's Minor Poems." Several members of the Junior spelling class have been promoted and are now taking Senior spelling. A certain member of the English History class endeavored to find European war news in a May magazine. Grammar Room Notes Last Friday morning several Seniors were in our room writing on an examination in agriculture. Miss Crouch was here Friday to explain the plan of the home industrial work for this term. All grades' took up the work Monday.

Friday afternoon the Grammar grades had a spelling contest. Esther Nelson of the sixth grade won the championship. Albert Wertman is absent from school visiting hia grand-parents in Washington county. Several pupils were swatting flies in the Grammar room Monday. -Twenty-five flies count three credits in home industrial work.

All are busy preparing for the bimonthly examinations to be held Thursday and Friday. There is music in the air. Our organ arrived Monday. Hazel Holman is our new organist. Mr.

Bowden earned 40 credits Tues- cil Grove Fridav for a short visit with her son O. T. VanMeter and family and her grand daughter, Mrs. Chas. Yadon and family.

Mr. and Mrs. John Swartz entertained a number of friends and relatives to dinner at their home Sunday. Those present were: Mr. Spencer and family, of Alta Vista, Cha3.

Morgan and family of McDowell creek, Chas. and Will Swartz and families, Chas. and Will Carlson and families. This wa3 in honor of Mn Swartz' birthday. Ladies Aid Society of the Presbyterian church met WednesJay of last week with Mrs.

Albert Aspelin in the country. A large attendance was reported. Mrs. Hannah McLeavey entertained Geo. Rapp and wife, Dr.

Brethour and family, Albert Aspelin and family, Mrs. J. L. Holshouser and two children and Miss Ruth Thornton at her home last Sunday. Mrs.

Clint Kerns and children epent Friday wits her sister, Mrs. Geo. Cur-yea near Alta Vista. Ralph Swartz and wife autoed to White City Sunday and spent the day with Prof. Harry Ramsey, candidate for county superintendent, was at White City Saturday.

Clarence Nordeen was a White Citj business caller Saturday. N. W. Nelson was at White City last Senday. F.

H. Schappel of Caldwell, and Mrs. Sloneker of Illinois, spent Sunday and Monday here with Will Swartz and family. Mrs. Sloneker is an aunt of Mrs.

Swartz. Frank Bailey, of Alta Vista, will preach here at the Christian church next Sunday morning and evening. Frankie Nordeen, of White City, spent Sunday here with home folks. Charley Nordeen went to Kansas City Monday to attend the funeral of Mr. and Mrs.

Wymers son who died Sunday. Wymers were formerly residents of Dwight. He was a veterinary surgeon here. Dr. McClane wa3 here last Monday night and took charge of the service at the M.

E. church. DWiGHT Bach, Mrs. Prescott and Mrs. Sadler are on the refreshment committee and xMrs.

G. Swartz was a White City caller over in Mondav afternoon. He drove traveling automobile with a couple were out working the roadg and putting in a new culvert five milea south of Dwight last week. Revival meetings commenced here Sunday night at the M. church.

Rev. J. R. Creamer will conduct the services, assisted by Mr. Day of Alma, who will have charge of the singing.
