A Pitiful Accident American Farmers Getting wise DWIGHT i 1 I It I I ') 0 Quite a bit of excitement wa caused on last Thursday night, June 22nd when the alarm was given that the blacksmith shop was on fire. This wa9 about 3:45 a. and in about 20 minutes nearly every man in town was up and ready to help extinguish the flames. There was no way in which to put the fire out, but many were buisy puttiDg water ou the roofs of the buildings close by. At 4:30 the shop was entirely burnt down.

The building belonged to Frank Amsbury of Alta. Vis ta. The loss was estimated at a- It will be rembered that a few months ego little Alberta Kistler aceidently broke her left limb. The little patient was compelled to lay in bed many weeks for the wound to heal, and was just get ting able to get around again when la-t Friday she feii over a wringer and egiiin broke the limb. She was taken to St.

Francis hospital in Topeka the same night by Dr. Little and Mr. Kistler, where the little one is receiving treatment, and from last reports is doing tine, hovvever she will bi compelled to remain there three or four weeks before she can be brougnt home. Her many old and young friends wish for her an early and complete recovery. 5 3 J.
