The East Liverpool Poisoning. Pittsburg, January 12. An East WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 14, 18a5 -OF. ALL KINDS, Susie's Diary. Jan.

13, 18851 am terribly out of humor, and think that I am not unreasonable. Fred came this afternoon to take me out riding, and mamma took it upon herself, to tell him that I was not able to go to school, even, and that I could not go with him. It was quite natural that I should feel; bad, and cryi a little over the disappointment, so mamma sat down by me, to mingle consolation with advice. She told me that I was too young to receive the attention of young men; and I asked her who wanted to receive the attention of young men. Of course I would not think of going out to ride with a lot of young men, but since Fred is only one, of those dreadful() creatures, I should think that I might 0 with him.

Besides that, we are engaged, just as much as John and Clara are, only nobody but Fred and me, knows it. I pretended that I wanted to go and see my friend Jennie, this evening, and Overcoats, Caps, Gloves, Heavy Boots and Shoes, WILL BE TO Hi square TO EVEEY'BODT. Ta Concordia. SlIKAFOR CO. Notwithstanding the severe storm which prevailed to-day, many farmers were in town with produce. The raise in the markets yesterday induced them to come. Mrs. Malloy is getting up a great interest in her meetings here.

The meeting last night was wonderful on account of its The house was packed to its utmost capacity, and many went away who couldn't get in at all. The dollar Times is what catches ''em. It is about as cheap as a first-class paper can be published, and our farmer friends realize the fact and propose to take advantage of our offer and secure good reading for the next year. The business of the K. I road has greatly increased of late.

It is wonderful how Mr. Neely has worked up the interests of the road at this place. "When he came here the road was not paying the expenses of operation, but now it is as profitable as any road coming Concordia. The company should feel under great obligations to hini, as they doubtless do. We were shown, the other day, a model of an egg case, invented by Albert Martin of this city, which we consider the moKt perfect invention wo have ever seen.

It is so ingeniously arranged that after the eggs have been removed from the box, the receivers may be folded up and placed back in the box, only occupying the space of one layer, giving the farmer the box to home his groceries after marketing his eggs. Martin has applied for a patent, which he will surely get, tind will then open up a factory in Concordia. In our opinion, he has a good thing, and it will doubtless prove a great benefit to the people at large, as well as to Mr. Martin. We are prepared to offer the Concordia Wekkly TurES.for one year, and the Topeka Daily Commonwealth through the session of the legislature, together with a copy of the "Squatter Sovereign," or "Kansas in the SQ's," for, the price of the book alone being $1.50, all for three dollars cash in advance.

This book is a historical novel, written by Mrs. Mary A. Humphry, and is well worth the entire price ask-d for both papers and the book. Nobody can begin reading it and quit to eat and sleep until it is finished. The Topeka Daily Commonwealth is worth for that time all that is asked for all combined.

Everbody interested in the early days of Kansas should avail themselves of this opportunity. A Wonderful Discovery. Consumptives and all who suffer from affection of the throat and lungs, find a certain cure in Dr. King's New Discovery for consumption. His voice has wonderful scope and he can change it so quickly, from a very high pitch, to a very impressive gutteral. Sometimes this vocal transi tion takes place in the middle of a word, and a person listening might sup pose that the soprano and bass, of the church choir, were holding a pleasant dialogue. Among other things, he said that my eyes are brighter than that glorious orb Sirius, and when I asked him what that was, he pointed to a very clear, bright Btar, and said that that star was many times larger than our Sun. It doesn't look reasonable, still I believe it, because Fred says so, and he studied, astrononfy last term, and is very wise. I grew quite chilly standing out there, so long, llope I have not caught cold, for I want to go to the rink to morrow night.
