The new married couple will carry with them to their future home in Morris county the best wishes of a host of warm friends. I will not tax your columns for space to enumerate a long list ot presents, but suffice it to say that the fr ends present made them several handsome and useful presents, and after partaking of a bountiful supper ot good things, dispersed to their several places ot abode, feelli all tbe better for haying been permitted to attend.

A neglected Atchison, Topek Santa Fe Railroad to one otlts or'glnal terminal points, Santa Fe, the capital of the territory from which our visitors come, the hitherto practically unknown country becomes a next-door neighbor. It Is not the design herein to enter into the details of the recourses and undeveloped wealth of this country which the railroad nas brought so near to us. One of the most potent arguments of its capacities for the future lies in the fact that far-seeing capitalists, who are bahlnd the Atchison, Topeka Santa v'e Railroad, have that faith in it that it has been pushed steadily forward, and in thr- future plans are lain lor a network of lines which are Intended to reach Into every portion of this domain. This Is au evidence of the richness of the country from which these visitors come. That it will develope with a rapidity which will be marvelous, even in an age when new countries are opened up with a rush th Is almost past belief, Is a fact tbat is not to be questioned.

That it will, lor mny years, call upon the outside world for that wuicb It consumes; for the machinery to deVelope Its rich mlues; is another fact that Is incontestable. Hence, it is plain that, The gatling guns on the South side of the parade ground with muzzles facing the city, are always a subject of comment, by visitors. There need be no talk, for the guns of the North be- an to be pointed Southward in 1861, and it's only habit.
