Williams is the mother of Miss Eva Williams who was formerly a typo in this office. Miss Eva has numerous friends in this vicinity. A sufficient fund was raised by subscript tion to send Wm. Milligan to the Fort Scott mineral wells Billy has been a sufferer from hip disease since childhood. The people of Bronson have great hopes that he will return from Fort Scott deprived of his sufferings.

Mr. Q. Campbell, of Conway Springs, made a flying trip to Bronson last Saturday night to visit his daughter Edeth, who has been lying very sick for -the past week with malarial fever, at the residence of O. W. Sprouse.

Mr. Campbell returned on the 12:57 train Sunday. The Bronson Pilot has changed hands, J. Russell having sold it to I. B.

Ray, a young newspaper man of considerable ability. Bronson is a good town, the Pilot is a good paper, well edited, and we wish Bro. Ray a whole cart load of success. Garland Gleaner. S.

F. Powers, jeweler of this place, left on the p. m. train Tuesday to test the virtues of the minerel waters of Fort Scott. Mr.

Powers has scarcely been able to attend to business since the commencement of summer. We trust the waters of Fort Scott will restore him to his usual health. The hum of the thresher can be heard on all sides of town. The flax crop this season is better than it has been for years. Oats are and corn will make a good averaee cropl The dry weather in Julv injured the corn to a certain exten but the acreage being so 1 much larger than heretofore, there will be an abundance of corn in the country.

To those desiring to attend the Quaker's yearly meeting, the St. Louis.
