There seems to be a little misunderstanding about toll ru les. hen we took possession we found a system of regulations already in force.

We have made no change therein. Anyone owning or renting a phone on our lines has a right to talk anywhere on our own or the Healy system free of charge. As before non-subscribers are supposed to pay anywhere. No one would think of gomg into a telegraph office and sending a message without paying for it. why should we be expected to maintain an $8,000.00 or $10,000 plant for accommodation.

Mile for mile it will cost more to build the telephone than it does to build the telegraph. Parties having no phones can, by paying a small sum monthly secure the right to use any phone on our lines the same as subscribers Otherwise they will be charged at regular toll rates. When you come to town pleasa come to the offiice and settle your May phone rent. T. O.

Two companies are cash, the other will take note. Those who wish to insure and do not have money can arrange that matter.

There has been a prejudice against Mutual companies, but figures from past records show they have paid more in losses for the amount of money put In premiums than the stock companies. Their adjustments are good and their premiums are less. I would like to write part of your insurance.
