It is often necessary to use something to rid garden' vegetables of insect and disease. Arsenate of 1 as a mixture for chewing insects. The powder form is more convenient to handle and weigh than the paste. It should be kept well stirred while being sprayed so as to spread the poison evenly. It should not be used on cabbage or cauliflower after the heads begin to form.

The proportions to use are two ounces of the powder Arsenate of lead to three gallons of water or if the paste is used, four ounces to three gallons of water.
