It is now known that the Solomon is supplied with ruining water, timber and good soil for two hundred mi'es from its mouth and one man who had followed the jttreara to its sources, asserts it to be a wooded and fertile stream for miles from its mouth, or to beyond the western line of the State; in other words, for a greater distance into the plains than either the Republican or Smoky Hill. This fact alone, is a good argument in its favor as a railrod route, as such a road would sending it during my delinquency.
