MUSI MAKE GOVERNMENT (Continued from Pasre 1.) people cry for food and will presently hate as much as they fear every man in their country or out of it, who stands between them and their daily bread. It is therefore, that the rnment of the United States should frankly state the policy, Avhich, in these circumstances it becomes its duty to adopt. It must presently do what it has not hitherto done or felt i at liberty to do, lend its active sup- port to a man or group of men who can rally the people of Mexico to their support to return to the consti- tution of the rermhlic so Iotip- in nhev- ance and set up a government at -Mexico City, which the great powers of the world can recognize, a government with whom the program of the revolution will be a business and not merely a platform. "I therefore, publicly and solemnly call upon the leaders of factions in Mexico to act together, and to act promptly for the relief and redemption of their prostrate country.

I feel it to be my duty to tell them that, if they cannot accommodate their differ- encss and unite for this great purpose within a very short time, this gov- i eminent will be constrained to decide what means should be employed by the United States in order to help 1 Mexico save and serve her people." The statement prepared after yesterday's cabinet meeting was intend ed for issuance early today, but was i delayed jty. conierences between the president antL $ecrctary Bryan, It was to have ecn made public at 10 a. but was delayed. ERIKSEN FURNITURE COMPANY Kodaks Kill the Fly Before I He Rises From I 1 I His Filthy Bed I THE favorite breeding place of fiiee is the manure pile. The great majority these pesky, dangerous insects come into life in our stable waste.

Until recently there was no simple, efficient and inexpensive method known whereby maggot life (the earl stage of fly life) could be destroyed in manure without injuring the fertilizing value of the manure. Paris green in watery solution one pound to twenty-five gallons of water appears to be the solution, of the problem. It proves to be highly efficient as a maggot killer. Take a common garden watering can, fill it with water, add a teaspoonful of paris green and stir until dissolved. Use daily on the manure and you will swat the fly in the most effective way.

This weak solution is not dangerous to stock. They would have to eat large quantities of the bedding to be affected. However, the solution should be kept out of the reach of children. Remember, the most effective way to swat the fly is to swat it before it is born. WHO swats the fly And swats away hi live xo swat Another day.

Many of them are camping along the river in the brush adjacent to the Santa Fe ground. Petty thievery is being re sorted to bv them, and householders of that locality are afraid that petty offenses may be succeeded by more serious ones. The ice-box belonging to Mrs.

J. D. Newton, 1530 New Hampshire, was rifled of its contents of food last night. That is but one of several happenings of that kind in that neighborhood. Housewives are advised, if they desire to rid themselves of any partic-ular individual or individuals of this species, to telephone to the police while they are in the immediate neighborhood and easily identified.

Begging is in itself a jail offense; one need not wait -for evidence of theft to incriminate the begging tramp enough to get rid of him. Birth Announcement A son was born the morning of May 31st to Mr. and Mrs. K. J.

Two Bad Local Roads During and following the rains there was more complaint about the last three miles of. the Overbrook road leading, into Lawrence than about the. orser twenty-one miles of that highway. Farmers declared that during the worst weather they were able ta come within three miles' of thc city with less wear and tear of vehicles and horses than the remainder of the trip cost them. Practically the same situation existed concerning the road between Lawrence and Eudora.

Keeley, Modesto, Calif. "PROFESSOR'S LOVE STORY" Will Be Repeated By Request Men-day Next At the Bowersock By request of dozens of surprised and delighted patrons of "The Professor's Love Story" when it was put on here by the University Seniors last February, the play will be repeated at the Bowersock next Monday, June 7. Tickets are on sale at the Round Corner Drug store. The phrase "by request" is no "stall" in this instance, as there have really been so many requests for repetition that they could not be ignored. So numerous and insistent have they been that they seem to justify expectations of a large patronage for the play next Monday.

It has never been intended, and hardly expected, that would be any jiecuniary profit in this play. It is not intended that there shall be in this instance. Should there be a surplus it will be donated to the work of promoting the dramatics and public speaking department of instruction at the University.
