Miss Travis the celebrated Lady Humorist and Dramatic Eeader, will read selections from Shakspeare, Burns, and other popular authors, at the Opera House this (Friday) evening. The following notices of the press will show in what high esteem her readings are held elsewhere.

Miss Travis has a superb voice under perfect control. Her dialect readings are without a flaw. She is natural and vigorous and has a thorough conception of what she reads. The audience were convulsed with laughter and moved to tears. New York Times.

The best entertainment of the kind ever given in this city. Her power to move her audience at will is marvelous. She has a superb voice under the perfect control of its fair possessor. There is only one other lady besides Miss Travis who can so perfctly render the "Bugle Song." We are glad she is to return in June and we predict for her a crowded house. Lowell Times.

Counsel at Jerusalem, will preach for the Methodists of North Topeka, on next Sabbath. During his stay in the city, the Dr. will deliver his popular lecture on the "BuriedCities of the Old World." We have seen the plan of the building, and can testify to the church being, when completed, an ornament to the city. It is to be 40x60, and 18 feet high, and spire 80 feet high.
