While going through the Change of Life A suffered with headaches, nervousness, flashes of heat, and I suffered so much 1 did not know what I was doing at times. I spent $1900 on doctors and not one did me any good. One day a lady called at my house and said she had been as sick as I was at one time, and Lydia E. Pink-hams Vegetable Compound made her well, so I took it and now I am just as well as I ever was. I cannot undorstanJ v'iy women dont see how much pain an.i suffering they would escape by taking your medicine.

I cannot praise it enough for it saved my life and kept me from the Insane Hospital. Mrs. E. Sheldon, 5657 S. ilalsted Englewood, 111.

Physicians undoubtedly did their best, battled with this case steadily and could do no more but often the most scientific treatment is surpassed by the medicinal properties of the good old fashioned roots and herbs contained in Lydia E. Fulton Globe: Uncle Pat Gorman says he notices that Fort Scott wants the county commissioners to appoint some one at a big salary to look after the repairs on the rock roads. He says when the Fulton end of the Jefferson Highway is completed he believes he can find a commission of three men who will superintend all repairs free of charge if the county will pay only tor the actual work. Alright Pat get busy as the commission would be a fine thing. The Fulton Globe talus a shot at the coaches in which the soldiers aie riding through here on the Frisco. The eastern railroads must have bum equipment says the Globe as many of the coaches look like jokes compared with the kind of cars we sec round here Miss Anna Wood, candidate for republican nomination for Register of Deeds, was here yesterday getting acquainted with the voters.

She was accompanied by her father, F. L. Wood. Bronson Idiot. Says the Uniontown Cicerone: Judge Harpold came out to attend the big Woodman meeting here Wednesday night and made an interesting address to the members.

Judge Harpold wants to be Register of Deeds and if all the voters were Woodmen he would land the job easily. Uniontown is contemplating having the old settlers picnic in conjunction with their fair this year. In view of the fact that the picnic this year comes only a few days in nd-vance of the fair has set people of the town to thinking that it would be well to have them both together. Thursday during fair week is the day that is being planned for the picnic. Camp Bandera is having a good run of business this season.

This week there are campers there from Iola, Gas, LaHarpe, Moran, Fort Scott, Blue Mound, Kansas City and Nevada, Mo. Mr. Gilfillan is planning a concert for them next Saturday night. P. Newton's pump plant at Bronson was destroyed by tire last week.

IJow it caught fire is a mystery. Mr Newton had missed gasoline from his plant and he thinks is possible that some thief was helping himself and set the plant on fire. Most of the machinery was destroyed. This afternoon at the Uniontown fair giounds the fair managers ill sell the hay crop on the fair grounds to the highest bidder. The crop is said to be exceedingly fine this year and many are sought on getting it.

Uniontowns ball team is playing at Lallarpe this afternoon, Manager Fred Kent has high hopes of taking the Lallarpe boys into camp. The Frisco had another soldier train through here Thursday niglit. The train came through as a second 105. The soldiers were enroute to San Antonio, Texas, to do border duty. Today is pay day on both the Frisco and Missouri Pacific railroads and nearly $73,000 will be paid out to the employees of the two roads.

Being Saturday and railroad pay day also, the merchants will no doubt do a big business. The Rev. J. H. Oliver was a business visitor to Fort Scott Wednesday.

The Fort Scott Republican has become a morning daily. It is a good paper and will succeed. From its columns we learn that the citizens of the Bourbon county metropolis are eating corn from the cob. Blue Mound Sun. Some time last year, in a great clean-up fervor, Colony made heroic warfare on her countless cats.

Now it appears that Colonys pond is covered with a great growth of cattails. Blue Mound Sun. Paul Rathfon, field man for the Fort Scott Republican, was here Tuesday, securing a correspondent and attending to other business matters for his publication. The paper was changed Monday from evening to morning and is much improved. Uniontown Cicerone.

The following from the Border Sentinel (democratic), looks like neutrality with just a shade for Col. Little: So far as we have noticed it Col. Ed. Little and U. S.

Guyer, republican candidates for congress in this district. Little is getting all the complimentary notices in the papers and Guyer is doing all the paid advertising. Taggart, the democratic candidate, is neither getting compliments nor doing any advertising. The Fort Scott Republican announces that on July 11th the paper will change from an evening to a morning paper. This is a wise move.

It takes the paper out of competition with the Tribune in the evening field relieves the town of the congestion of two evening papers and gives it room for expansion as a morning paper in a clear held.
