The National Hotel Turkish Baths and Barber Shop ARE NOW OPEN Turkish, Russian and Electric Baths The finest Turkish Baths in the west; open all night With law-and-order officers who aid the breaking of the laws and theatre managers who want them enforced what is supposed to be the regular order of things is completely reversed. One of the inconsistencies of the present blue-law crusade is to allow the Vinewood cars to carry large numbers of people to the pleasure park while the local theatres and Garfield are compelled to close. Sheriff Wilkerson is going to have an imitation man hunt with the bloodhounds just bought.

He has picked out a colored man to be trailed by the dogs. Sheriff Wilkerson has a soft place in is heart for the colored man and brother it would seem, judging by the preference given him. Topeka has the most peculiar situation to confront. The theatre managers, on whom the hose was turned as all that is vicious, are clamoring for absolute law enforcement, while a mayor elected on a law-and-order platform and backed up by the most rabid members of the council is openly saying that he will not permit the enforcement of the laws. Green has been violating one of the ordinances of the city for years and you can scarcely wonder that he is against the absolute enforcement of the laws, but it does seem queer that he should single out certain classes and not do his whole duty impartially.

I have never before seen an official who had the nerve to declare that he would not enforce a law and if there is no way: to reach an official who disregards his plain duty, then it is time some way was made.
