ON Le Roy. Mis.

('. Decker, spoken of last week, is still ohiined to her room, with but little improvement in her condition. The people of Le Roy very much feel the need of a rail road communication, especially during the session ol district court. We are as much in favor of political benefits as we are of social or principle benefits, as the first is a gaurimtee to the others. We learn learn that there is a movement on foot to the establishing of an Alliance at Le Roy the near future.

Let the good work go on. Beautiful spring weather is now the order of the day, and on account of the scarcity of feed people are beginning to turn stock on the grass to make their own living. Several farmers in and about Le Roy' are convinced now that Doc. Decker is not as good a judge of a horse as lie is of a mill since his late purchase. How is that.

Doc. J. T. Cottingham has rented the 80 acre farm laying immediately west of the railroad bridge, formerly known as the Cunningham place, for one year, at $75 cash rent. The members of the county assembly F.

M. B. A. No. 41, vote in favor of a third party and their delegate to the Cincinnati convention, Mr.

A. B. Moore, was so instructed. Mr. Roll Norton, spoken ol last week as suffering from cancer of the throat, is dead, and will be buried at his late home in the Indian Territory.

Another good man has gone from us. Quite a respectable delegation got off the M. K. railway train atSankey, a station three miles west of Le Roy, one day last week, it being the nearest point by railroad from Le Roy to Burlington. The station was formerly known as Le Roy Junction and consists of only a platform adjoining a frog pond.

The Knights of Reciprocity is being organized, we learn, all over the state very quietly, but very surely, and let no one be deceived, for it is an organization of the Republicans to light the Alliance and other kindred organs. Our advice is to load heavy, double shot and shoot the law, and for further instructions subscribe for the Farm Record, one dollar per year, and it will furnish the rest. Steady, men, free men, steady. Success is sure. Cadmus.

Strawn. Rev. Sharpless preached to a crowded house Sunday. The one oclock passenger train killed a valuable cow for E. L.

Wingard Sunday. 0. C. Jacobs availed himself of the invitation offered to join the Christian church at this place. Mr.

Sto tern ire shipped four carloads of cattle and hogs from here to-day. They were fed by John Ricliartand Geo. Antrim, and were good ones. Mr. Jas.

Jacobs lias drawn the color line in his business of driving passengers to Ottumwa and turned it over to Bert McClintock. Ask Keno why it is. Mr. G. Harvy gave a party to his scholars last Saturday afternoon, They reported a fine time and a big treat of oranges, bananas, candy and cake.

Mr. H. C. Allen, of Ottumwa, left yesterday for Missouri for a short stay. He will take run down into southeastern Arkansas before lie conies back.

The F. A. I. U. had two more converts at its last meeting and will have more at its next.

We, of the F. M. B. that have gone into the Alliance, are well satisfied with the change. Not that we think the Alliance a better organization but it is better organized in this state and there is no use of keep ng two organizations in the field where but one is needed.

Our object is the same and our mode of operation is about the same. It is the law of nature that the weak should give to the stronger and the sooner we all get to great for her, the better it will be for all. Ann Arky. Eclipse. Rev.

Cranier gave us a good sermon last Sunday. Come again. Everybody come to our Sunday school and make it a success. Our lodge is progressing nicely. Who forgot the pass word the president.

Dr. McMullen was in our neighborhood Monday night. May the old gentleman live to make us many calls in cases of sickuess. There seems to he a better feeling existing among tbe people than there has been lor some time. We are in hopes it may continue and much good be derived from it.

Ournew bridge is of little consequence as it is not yet graded up. There is much work to be done on tbe road which should have been done some time ago. We are in hopes our road it in Waverly. The members aiv1 directors of the ve store ot this place, will meet on Saturday, J. heJntli inst.

and decide on what store room they will occupy and pay over the stock money to the treasurer and get ready to open at once. D. A. (1. Aliceville.

Three young men, of this place, Kir-kum, Marshall and Marrow committed rape on Miss Minnie Godsby, a modest and well appearing young lady. They enticed her to go to a ball. When a short distance from town they commenced their tienish work. The friends of the young lady entered complaint and the boys were arrested by officer, Ben Ware, They arrained before L. S.

Robinson, justice of the peace for preliminary hearing. Evidence being sufficient, they were bound over to the district court in the sum of $500 each. X.Y. Z. Our Party.

Nonconformi't. The People's Party has to deal with social and political questions as broad as the country itself. To deal with these quest ions wisely will require the best thought and character that can he mustered to the service of the party. A knowledge of mankind, their natural relations to each other, a knowledge of law. of polit its, of government, of political economy, and the philospliy of life must he the requisites of the men and women who are called to the work.

Labor is struggling for its rights. Industry is everywhere organizing for conflict. But labor, if it would he entirely successful, and secure the best results from its efforts to better its condition, must remember that there are brain toilers, with good hearts and honest purposes, and cultured minds, whose aid will be necessary in solving the problem and perfecting the great plans for human upliftment. The line must be drawn between the conscienceless scamps who prostrate their brains to the service of mammon, and the thoughtful men and women who have nothing but the good of humanity at heart. Every honest effort must be made to attract to the party the best thought, the best culture and the best character in the country, for our cause is just and it is our mission to prove it.

We must stop following the loud-mouthed blatherskites who aspire to leadership, and who havent brain enough to talk logically upon any question ten minutes, but who, to at tract attention to themselves, depend upon their ability to shout cant phrases. We must deal with causes and aim at results. To do that we must have thoughtful men and women. Tliey may come from behind the plow, or from the workshop, or from the kitchen, or the school room, or the counting room; but whether hand toilers or brain toilers, we need there services if they are honest, and we dont need the services of men who ply the art of the demagogue to keep alive groundless prejudices between these classes. This farmejorganization has not come to injure hut to save the civilization of this century and to equalize the conditions, educate the agriculturist, teach him not only how to improve the quality of his stock and increase the sum of his crops, but to make him well acquainted with the science of govern ment in its best sense.

Government now is run iii its worse se lse, and the farmer is the victim, which has become unbearable, leading him with taxes and extortion. All the farmer wants is justice, and this grand uprising is to se cure it, pot at the expense of others in a single for the benefit of all. -fix.
