The weathor prophet very kindly held off his showers until after the fair. The local wholesale liquor dealers are dreadfully exercised over a recent decision in the United States circuit court of Kansas, but hope to have it overruled, believing that the same was caused by the pro liibition pressure in that ice-watr country. Under the new ruling no wholosalo or retail liquor dealer can ship liquors by express C.t). D. to any point without having a United States license )of $25 at each place of delivery and collection.

This ruling having been made in a United States Qf course applies to the whole eoun-tr, and if sustained will add an enormous burden to the weight already carried by liquor dealers Cincinnati Enquirer. Gen. Harney, who said the other day that there was no trouble in getting along with the Indians, if you treat them kindly, when serving in Florada learned that the Seminoles entertaiued the belief that the soul of an Indian killed in battle weut to the happy hunting grounds, but that when death was caused by hanging the spirit de-cended to a region of everlasting torment. He therefore ordered the hanging of all Seminole murderers. On one occasion Gen.

Harney was present at the hanging of fifteen Indians, who were strung up one at a time. The last of the lot was a mere boy, who witnessed the scene with apparent indifference. Just before his turn came he looked at Harney with a sheer on his lip and said in broken English: He think he play hell.
