The Senate bill, leaving to the coun ties interested a voice in regard to the changing of their county lines gives entire satisfaction. It does seem strange tliat a body of men who are ignorant of that which would he to the interests of the people, should have the power to change them from one county to another, regardless of their wishes. And again, county divisions are nearly always for the purpose of building up some town, or enhancing the value of the property of some politician. The interest of the people is not taken into consideration at all. The people are poor enough now, then why impose upon them another sett of county officers.

The county officers of Wichita are not overworked in fact, they ore men of leisure. There have been meetings in Wiclia ita, Park City, Sedgwick and other por tions of the county, remonstrating against the outrnee. foe I From tho IJVcAi'fa Vidette ws learn that meeting of the citisens took place at the school honse to take action in re gard to tho division of Sedgwick coun ty. After being thoroughly discussed the following resolutions were adopted As the sentiment of this meeting we view ail efforts to aleniate and divide any part or parcel of the county of Sedgwick as mischevious and detrimen. tal to the public good, adverse to the interests and desires of the people of tho county conceived in the interests of designing speculation and stimula ted by the grasping avarice of design ing corporate monopolists.
