Reid, Supreme Secretary. To the Subordinate Lodges. Parsons, Sept. 21, 1895. I want to offer congratulations to all the lodges for the noble manner in which they responded to the double header that we had in August.

At the time of issue of the September number of The Protector, a few of the lodges had not remitted assessment No. 9 to this office, and I was unable to tell just what the outcome would be. Coming at the season of year it did the result is remarkable. While we had a large suspended list as a result, we have a reinstatement list on assessment No. 10 that almost overbalances the same; and I am sure that by the time No 11 is in that those lodges that have had difficulty to keep their members in the ranks during the hot season, will be able to reclaim a large per cent, of those thatwere unable to meet the assessments.

The future looks bright. The heated term and double header both a thing of the past, we can prepare for the seasons work. Several lodges have ordered supplies preparatory to the Fall campaign. I am waiting with great anxiety to read the plans.
