THE PROTECTOR. 69 order, if properly instilled into the minds and lives of men and women, would be all that would be needed to revolutionize the world morally and socially. Purity, social purity, unmixed with the contaminating influences of deceit, envy, jealousy, malice or any other corrupting influence is all that can be obtained by human effort against sin and its baneful effect on the human heart. Then fidelity, which means to be true, trustworthy, faithful under all circumstances, imposing perfect confidence, true to every trust confided. To dwell in such a society is a blessing that is beyond our estimate in intrinsic value, for who does not desire such a condition of social surroundings.

Where is the mind and heart so depraved as to lightly spurn these grand and good principles. In conclusion, let me say that to be a true patriarch is to exemplify these, the only attributes of a noble and generous womanhood and manhood, simply rising above the ignoble and soaring in the sublime sphere of social purity and confidence. Your brother in F. and R. member of Parsons lodge.

A BROTHER. The Pansies. Editor Protector. McCUNE, June 25. -In spite of the elements of nature, rain, thunder and lightning, the applicants of Pansy Lodge No.

Mahr. Vice Patriarch, Miss Ella McCune. Priest, Thomas K. Vance. Guide, Kearney Drake.

M. J. Mahr. Dr. J.

H. Mahr was elected as local medical examiner. Large delegations had contemplated being here from Parsons, Montana, Monmouth, Cherokee, Weir City and Girard, but the electric storm had spoiled it all, and I was left alone with the Pansies to instruct, institute and install the same, but I can say that it was one of the happiest 1110- ments of my life, for a brighter set of pansies could not be found, as they are all young ladies and gentlemen that stand at the topmost notch of the community, and are enthusiastic workers and boldly assert that I have instituted one of the finest lodges in America, and that Pansy Lodge No. 42, Patriarchs of America, instituted June 22, 1895. stands equal to any kindred organization.

After the usual routine of business Sister Annie Lockwood and Brother J. P. Peiars expressed a very great desire to cultivate the acquaintance of the goat. Now we had been terribly disappointed on account of the weather, as Cherokee Lodge No. 15 had promised to bring their's over, as it was in.

the best years of life, but I had made provisions before the falling weather, and had got a nice small goat a few days before, but could not leave it at the hotel on account of the guests, so I left it at one of the neighbors, who took it home as he had nice grass there; so when we wanted to introduce the goat, we found that he was broke down and puny. Sister Danner had seen me curry him a time or two, and had stole a march by practicing three or four times a day 011. him and broke him down; but we soon had another, and he was a terror, for he came very near knocking the Deputy Supreme Patriarch out, and Sister Lockwood will swear to it, as will also Brother Piears. Well, we were all happy and everybody well pleased, and the young members of Pansy Lodge feel that they have a bright future before them, and they will make 11SC of it. Now, I congratulate the Patriarchs of America on obtaining such a good addition, and trusting that the good work may grow, I remain fraternally, C.

F. AUBRAY, Deputy Supreme Patriarch..
