4 KANSAS WORKER KANSAS WORKER We are in receipt of a copy of the The October Signs monthly is a announcements of the tent meetings Capital and Labor number. In these Elder Hiffel and Brother Mathwig are times of social disturbance, this paper conducting at Inman. They began on should have a very large circulation. Thursday, September 9. Topeka, Sept.

15, 1909 D. E. Welch Editor Terms? 35 cents a year, in advance Entered as second class matter May 19, 1904 at the post office at Topeka. Kansas, under the Act of Congress of March 3, 1879. Each church, and all isolated believers should decide at once how many copies of the special Thanksgiving Number of the Review they can use, and send their orders to Bro.

J. A. Westermeyer, 821 W. 5th Topeka, Kans. Another letter just came from Brother James, in India.

He expressed much appreciation of the interest the brethren of Kansas have taken in his work in that dark land; and in this way we pass on his thanks to those who have contributed toward the fund which has been raised for him. He stated that they were ready to start their sanitarium as soon as the funds reach them. Nate After spending last Sabbath with the church at Topeka, Elder Thompson left for Wichita and Ft. Dodge, also intending to attend the Western Colorado camp meeting before returning home. We are glad to have a President who is in such demand.

Union College has just issued an Industrial Manual which is very interesting. It may be had for the asking. Since leaving home for camp meeting, Elder Thompson has performed four wedding ceremonies, as follows: Bro. F. C.

Clark and Miss Calla Brown, August 18; Bro. C. C. Brown and Miss Loa Faye Waters, on same date; Bro. Erwin Baily and Miss Ethna Kauble, August 31; and Bro.

Fred A. Roy and Violet Watkins, September 2. All these are among our chociest young people, and start in wedded life under promising circumstances. The Worker extends congratulations and best wishes to all. ERRATUM In last weeks paper, the name of Agnes Follett should have been included in the list of those receiving Missionary License.

Bro. H. L. Shaffer, writing from Newton, says: I expect to leave here for Hartford next Tuesday, September 7, to connect with Brother Campbell in a tent effort at that place. Under date of September 8, the following word comes from Oswego: School opened to-day with a good attendance, and the new buildings are being pushed as fast as possible.

All hands are busy. Home Bible Study Series We trust no one will fail to order a club of the Signs weekly for the Special Home Bible Study Series. These 25 numbers freely scattered in your community ought to be nearly as good as a series of meetings, for they take up the points of truth just as a minister would. The series of 25 numbers to one person $0.75 5 or more copies mailed direct from the office of publication, to names and addresses furnished, each 60 5 or more copies to one person, each 50 Signs of the Times, Mountain View, Calif Many of our canvassers who have been in the field the past spring and summer are preparing to attend school, either at Oswego or Union College. Several who did not expect to attend school have earned sufficient to pay their way.

Some have earned scholarships in three weeks. Bro. Chas. Sutton has been called to Eastern Colorado, to take charge of the bookwork in that conference. We are glad to be able to supply good men to fill responsible places.

There is no reason why Brother Sutton should not make Eastern Colorado a splendid missionary agent, having sold and delivered over $1500 worth of books since Feb. 1, 1909. Brother Bellah writes that he never saw a worker receive such a hearty welcome as was given to Brother Sutton by the Colorado people. We know him to be worthy of anything they can do for him in his efforts to build up the work there. The Subscription Book Department having released Brethren Tatro and Stauffer, to assist in the Ministerial Department, in tent efforts, it behooves us to invite suitable persons to make an effort to qualify as city workers, and fill the vacancies.

If you are interested, write me at once. J. L. Me Gee. lUuiuu'tni iXntimi Under this head we will print short advertisements for the convenience of our people, making a charge of twenty-five cents for each insertion of six lines or fraction thereof, payable in advance.

Wanted. A location for a blacksmith shop among Seventh-day Adventists, where there is plenty of work and a church school. Address Parker Strom, Oakley, Kansas. Now that our Conference has voted to send one-fourth of our tithe to needy fields outside of our own borders, it behooves all to be faithful and prompt in sending in the same. If we carry out this recommendation and support our present force of laborers, it will be necessary to increase our tithe several thousand dollars.

This will be easily done if all will be honest with the Lords part. Honesty and faithfulness are all that is needed, and both will be required before entering heaven. c. T. To Rent.

-To a good S. D. an 80-acre farm, half mile east of Floral, 20 minutes ride from Winfield on Frisco, 8-room house with water piped in, a splendid place for missionary work. Address Mrs. Isaac Reinhardt, Floral, Ks..
