Glover of Topeka. $30,000 School Awarded This Week to Fairbury Contractors. The Prairie View school building job was laid aside for Busboom Brothers, of Fairbury, Nebraska, this week. Their bid of $20,000 won it. The heating and plumbing went to Garrett Plb.

Htg. of Norton, at $3800. Glen J. Pearcy, of Mankato? is- the architect. The building will be of brick construction.

The wiring went to Pigue Phillipsburg, of Phillipsburg, at $551.75. 1 1 r1 1 LOWELL SCHOOL BIDS AUG. 17. Morris Casson, Topeka contractors, walked away with the contract to build a $30,000 school building at Maple Hill. Their bid was $25, 682 The other three low bids, within the running, were: Sargent Trus, of Topeka $26,501, Geo.

Gurtler, Topeka, $26,280 and Mont Green, Manhattan $27,890. The heating and plumbing went to Bass Linton of Topeka at $5490 and the wiring to the Machinist Electric Co. of Topeka at $660. This ik to be a two story structure of brick and stone construction. Sealed bids will be received by Miss Eldena Williamson, City Clerk of the City of Marion, Kansas, at her office until 4:00 p.

m. on Tuesday, the 8th day of August, 1922, for the construction of paving in the City of Marion, Kansas, involving the following approximate quantities: 16,988 sq. yds. brick and asphalt pavement. 7,500 cu.

yds. earthwork excavation. 11,185 lin. ft. curb and gutter.

A certified check in the sum of $5,000.00 must accompany each bid. The Mayor and Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all bids. Plans and specifications may be seen at the office of the City Clerk or at the office of the Consulting Engineer, F. E. Devlin, Sedgwick Building, Wichita, Kansas.

GET NEWTON JOB. Sealed proposals will be received at Utica, Kansas, until two oclock p. m. Central time, Tuesday, August 15, 1922, for labor and materials necessary for the erection and completion of a school building, according to the plans and specifications prepared by Mann Gerow, archi-. tects; 722' Rorabaugh-Wiley Hutchinson, Kansas.

Plans aiflk specifications may be seen at the office of the architects, at the office of the school board, at the office of H. A. Noble, 411 Reliance Kansas City, at the office of Construction News, Topeka, Kansas; at the office of Chamber of Commerce, St. Joseph, Missouri. Contractors desiring to bid on this work may obtain plans from the architects by making a deposit of $10.00 which deposit will be re-' vturned upon the prompt return of plans and specifications and the submission of a bona fide bid for at least a part of the work.

Separate bids will be received for the General Contract, Heating Plumbing, and Electric Wiring and bids shall be accompanied by the usual certified check as designated by architects. The contractors to whom contracts are awarded will be required to furnish both performance and statutory bonds each for the full amount of the contract. CHAPMAN, Clerk School Board, Utiea, Kansas. Topeka Firm to Build New Santa Fe Office Building. The general contract for the construction of a two story office building 80x160, for the Santa Fe at Newton was awarded this week to Swanson Bros, of Topeka, who have done a great deal of work for the Santa Fe over its system. It will be of brick and stone construction. John Yonkers, of Topeka, architectural office, prepared the' plans.

3, Lowell, Cherokee County, Kansas, until 2:30 p. m. August 17 th, 1922, for the erection and completion of a public school building, according to the plans and specifications prepared by C. A. Henderson, Architect.

Plans may be seen at the home of J. F. Newkirk, one mile south of Lowell, Kansas, or at the office of the architect at Coffeyville, Kansas. The Heating and Ventilating contract will be awarded in separate contract at same time. Parties desiring to take plans out of office, will be required to make deposit of $15.00 which will be returned when the plans have been returned in good condition.

A certified check for five (5) per cent of the amount of bid, made payable to J. F. Newkirk, must accompany each proposal, to be surrendered as damages if successful bidder should fail to enter into contract and file satisfactory Surety Bonds according to the laws of the State of Kansas, within fifteen days from date of award.
