Were all tired of wading and driving through a foot or two of mud pulling up steep hills and crossing on treacherous bridges. Weve put up with these conditions too long, as it is; -far to long. Now were going to do things. Were going to fix them up. In brief, plans are nearly completed for 143 miles of road paving at a cost of at least $3,242,521.

With her 111,052 miles of road there are actually only 1,149 miles in any way surfaced. Kansas is almost at the foot of the class as far as road construction is concerned.
