The Empire Fuel Gas Company finally succeeded in reaching the new pay sand in No. 10 on the Hotson farm, northwest 25-22-4 west, after giving up hopes several times.

The top of the sand was found at 1,526 feet. It was only tapped and is flowing 50 barrels daily natural. The outside casing is being pulled before drilling it in. It is on the south line and is the second location from the east line. It is the fourth well to reach the new sand and makes this sand look better than ever.

No. 10 and No. 11 missed production in the Hoy sand and were considered boundry wells in the streak. Both have been deepened to the new sand. The Roxana Petroleum Company No.

1 on the Schroad-er farm, in the southwest corner southwest 18-22-3 west, exhausted the oil from the sand from 1,320 to 1,330 feet when it was swabbed a few days. When drilled in it showed up for a good well. It was deepened to 1,420 feet and is shut down for casing.lt is due for the Hotson sand within the next sixty feet. The Healdton and Oil State interests are underreaming pipe to 900 feet in No. 6 in the northwest quarter, northeast 24-22-4 west.

No. 7 is rigging up. Two strings of company tools will be used to drill oat the forty acres to the two sands. The Carter and Southwestern Companies have the top of the Hoy sand at 1,122 feet in No. 8 on the Diveley farm, northwest 24-22-4 west, and it is showing for a well.

The pipe will be underreamed to the sand before drilling in. This well was started for the Hotson sand but good production in, the Hoy will not be passed up. No. 9, a twin well to Noi 5, is on the east line and a rig. No.

10, a wtin well to No. 7, is in the northeast corner and rigging up. The Buffalo Oil Gas Company is cleaning out No. 1 on the Neihus farm, southeast 12-22-5 west, to 525 feet where it was abandoned last spring. They will drill it to the Ponca City sand.

The Algiers Oil Company has 2,435 feet of hole and the 5-inch on bottom in No. 1 on the Searcy farm, northeast 15-22-4 west. It had another nice showing of oil at this depth. The number of showings this well has had makes it one to be watched. MARKUS Augusta, Kansas FROM BILLINGS In the Billings district the Mid Co. Petroleum Company has brought in another well that at two feet in the pay" streak is flowing natural 800 barrels daily. It is hie ninth well in this field ten miles east and a little north of Garber, and was discovered a year ago. Three more wells are on top of the sand waiting on storage for the oil. In the proven district there should be a well completed about every ten days for a while.

This proven district is not very large a little less than a mile long by a half mile wide, and it hasnt room to double itself many times as drv wells in the Hoover, or Ponca City sand, are closing in in all directions. In this district as in the Garber, the real production should be found in the stratas making the big wells at Blackwell it is just being scratched around on the surface. The Mid Co. Petroleum Companys new well is 1 on the Washburn farm, in the northeast corner, southwest 15-23-2 west. It got the sand at 2,010 feet.

It is a location south and west of the Humphreys Petroleum Company No. 1 on the Neil farm which came September 1st at around 600 barrels and is today producing natural 300 barrels. This well has never been completed and is only three feet in the sand. The Mid Co. people also have a second well on the Washburn farm to the sand, which was reached at feet in No.

10 in the southeast comer. No. 12 is drilling at 1 The Humphreys Petroleum. Company No. 3 on the Neil farm east half of section 15, is near the top of the sand i QQ5 fpet and is pulling the outside casing.

No. 2 is 012 feet. No. 4 is shut down at 1,100 feet for gNo. 5 is Skidding the rig.
