Sister S. R. Miller, whose indomitable will has so often brought her out of the very jaws of death, has been very low during the past week. The prayers of our people have constantly gone up to the throne of grace for her speedy and complete recovery. It is to be hoped that there may be a rally from this severe attack.

We extend sympathy to the entire family. Sister P. M. Preble, who for more than two years has been confined to her room, is slowly improving. She is anxious for the time for to come when she may be, able to go to the house of God to worship with God's people.

Sister Mary Imbler has partially lost her eyesight and is unable to go about without some one to assist her. She has our sympathy. There have been many cases of sickness among the members of the congregation during the past month. Those whose names we now call to mind are: Geo. Anderson, Mr.

and Mrs. Elias White, Bro. and Sister Roberts, H. C. Reeve, Mrs.

J. F. Skaggs, Harry Wison, Pearl Irish, Carrie Smith, Bro. and Sister James Porter, Mrs. Nancy Grubbs, Lida Hedges and M.

J. Sanders. Sister Sarah Wilson seems to be mending slowly. It is her great desire to be able once more to get out to the services and engage with us in the Lord's work. May her prayer be granted.

One of the young ladies of the church came to the pastor recently and said that she had a plan by which, she believed, money could be raised to pay off a certain debt, and asked that the pastor help her work the plan. We have not yet learned what the plan is, but we are glad that others are. thinking for themselves along lines of church work. Our young people should think and plan for themselves and then seek to enlist others to push their plans. Too many of us wait for some one else to do the thinking and planning.

We are not willing to take the initiative and become leaders instead of followers in church work. Even if we become helpers in pushing the plan thought out by some one else, we often do it in a half-hearted way. The young lady in question is to be con- gratulated.
