PATRONIZE OUR ADVERTISERS. THEY ARE THE BEST IN THEIR LINES DAWDY-WILSON. An event which created much interest was the marriage of Mr. Fred F. Dawdy and Miss Nina Wilson at the Third Christian Church, Wednesday evening, June 6th.

A few minutes before 8:30, Mrs. Wm. Stewart and Mrs. Howes sang a duet. Immediately following this Mr.

Roehr struck up Mendelsohn's Wedding March and the bridal party entered the church. The pastor, Rev. F. E. Mallory, preceded by the flower children, Roy Yewell and Florence Jolly.

both dressed in pure white, marched down the center aisle. The groom, attended by Mr. Culmer McGill, and preceded by Miss Elsie Yewell and Mr. Elmer Miller, went down the west aisle, and the bride, dressed in white satin, and leaning on the arm of Miss Zoe Fink, the maid of honor, followed Miss Eunice Miller and Mr. Ira Henry down the east aisle.

When the bridal party had formed beneath an arch of fern and daisies, Mr. Roehr began an appropriate selection on the piano, which he played softly throughout the ceremony. At its close the party marched to the east side of the church, where they received the congratulations of about four hundred of their friends. After this the ladies of the church entertained the bridal party and their guests at a reception. The bride and groom left Thursday for Decatur, where they will join Evangelist Romig, whom they will assist during the summer.

E. G. H. It will not be long until the meeting of our state convention at Ottawa. The date is August 20-24.

See the program in the June number of the Kansas Messenger and then begin to make preparations to hear it all. Twenty-five persons ought to go to the convention from the Third church. Why is it that more of our Christian Endeavorers do not attend the midweek prayer-meeting? Do you not know that it is impossible to get Endeavorers to keep the pledge to attend the C. E. meetings, when you break the pledge by not attending the midweek prayer meetings? Every Endeavorer, when he became such by signing the pledge, promised the Lord Jesus Christ to attend the Bible School, morning and evening church service, and the mid-week prayer meeting.

The writer knows of many instances where this promise is deliberately broken; where no reasonable or conscientious excuse can be made to God for non-attendance upon the services mentioned above. If an excuse were offered it would be only another lie added to a long list of lies already made for a willful neglect of duty. Do you know that no liar shall enter the kingdom of heaven? A At the business meeting of the Y. P' S. C.

E. last Monday evening the following officers were elected for the ensuing term: President, Wm. Boyes; vice-president, James Jones: financial secretary, G. M. Webster; treasurer, Elsie Yewell.

It is to be hoped that every endeavorer will give to their chosen officers a hearty and loyal support. Splendid work has been done during the first five months of the present year, and our officers from president to organist, are to be congratulated for there efficient and selfsacrificing service. Especially to Bro. Symmes, our retiring president, do we we thank for the spiritual uplift that has come to our Society as well as for the excellent financial showing the society has made. The report of the Financial Secretary for the month of May, shows that $19.65 was raised during the month.

There has been a gradual increase in the receipts from month to month, this month (May) being the largest. Sometimes some very amusing things occur. Not long since, one cold Sunday morning, a certain mother, in rising and leaving Eddie and Georgie in bed, said: do not feel very well this morning. I have a very bad cold, and my lungs feel so bad and sore I think I shall not be able to go to church today. I shall be very sorry to stay at home." The two little boys heard what their mamma said, and remained in bed after she went down stairs, talking together.

After a time, George. the younger, appeared at the foot of the stairs and said: "Mamma, I don't feel very well today, and Eddie don't feel very well; need we go to church to-day? He's got the headache, and the neckache, a-n-d the backache, a-n-d stomachache, a-n-d-a-n-d' (calling to Eddie upstairs) "what else is it, Eddie?" Eddie replies, "Handache." "Oh, yes, handache, that's all! Need Eddie and I go to church to-day?" Little Eddie went to church that day, notwithstanding his dreadful aching little body, and after the service was as bright and well as ever. Do you think the sermon was good medicine for him? Sermons of the right sort are very good for Sunday sickness. GEO. W.
