Cotton has been raised in considerable quantities in Labette and other south eastern counties, nnd as the crops have paid the farmers well, there is no reason why this useful plant could not be successfully cultivated in 'this county. Last year a citizens meeting was held nt tho court house on Saturday night before the election, for the purpose of nominating a ticket. Dr. Allen. On Sunday precediug election day another caucus was held, and on 3Ionday morning bright nnd early men were on the streets, with tickets in their hands with Dr. Bassett's name at the bead. The fight waged red hot all day, and when the vote was counted out Dr. Basset won by two or three votes.

R. 8T05I. with the earnestness with which- he appeals to you to continue to enlighten the world in regard to he means by which be was so miraculously cured of rheumatism and hip-joint lameness by using Kendall's Spavin Cure. The article to which he alludes by Dr. Bates, impressed me so favorably with the real merits of litis remedy that I tried it also for several blemishes on my horses and found it the most perfect cure I ever tried for spavin and other blemishes, as it completely removes the enlargement instance b3r continuing its use for several day after the lameness had subsided.

The perfect success I have always Tiad with Kendall's Spavin Cure led me to use it on my own person, and for all the family with the very best results as a family liniment. While several of the cures made with it have been almost miraculous, none have been more satisfactory than several cures which I made with it of foot-rot and also sore teata as well as warts on teats of cows. I consider it a sure cure for sore teats or foot-rot in either cows or sheep. With the satisfaction remedy has always given in every instance, I cannot refrain asking with my friend Parker that yoifcontino to make known to the world this, the grandest discovery of the nineteenth ccnturv.
