People who have no better judgment than Eldorado prohibitionists, deserve to lose. Burns Citizen, In the first place a fellow who resists in spelling El Dorado with a lower case and then figures two as three, ought not to be taken seriously in his criticisms. But really the Citizen knows nothing of conditions here, else it would not wrongfully charge all with political prejudice. This is a contest between the citizens of El Dorado, irrespective of party who are opposed to party politics and gang rule in city affairs and who are working on a nonpartisan basis strictly and thoee who not only draw the party lines, crack the party whip, who have ho use whatever for those who oppose them and would vote and work every day in the week for party rather than the interests of the people and the homes Farmers Advocate. Get your oranges for Sunday at the Silyer Moon. 12 Hawley S. Smith, tue Editors old Quaker friend of Lawrence, has doubtless heard of conditions confronting the city election in El Dorado and sends quite a lengthy poem giving his ideas of the situation existing today between the church and the rum power, Bro Smith is an earnest whole souled, Christian, a fervent believer in prohibition, talks and practices temperance. He is 8G years old and Tor four years has been confined to bia bed.

Before he became an invalid, he was actively engaged in bis church and in private and public affaire and was known far and wide as an earnest temperance worker. There is much truth in the thought expressed in his verses. Suppose some private citizens did meet, and suppose they unanimously agreed to try to git Bugbee and Kiser off the track? What of it? They were acting for themselves and for nobody else; and had a perfect right to get together and rub noses if they enjoyed it. Republican. And yet Shelden persists in telling us all the time that the Republicans extended the Olive branch, made overtures for peace and that the Citizens refused to act.

It is a fact that had the committees agreed as proposed that neither could have delivered the goods. Why has the city been going back wards for several years? Because for individuals who have dictated city affaire have been against its advancement and have fought every improve ment suggested, even our magnificent school house. They were whipped on the "new school" question and this same crowd will be whipped next Tuesday when Bugbee is defeated (the click's last choice for mayor, and whom they tried to sell out) and elect L. L. Kiser the Peoples choice.

An exchange tells of a printer who when his fellow workmen went out to, drink beer during the working hours, put in the bank the exact amount which he would have spent he had gone to drink. He thus kept his resolution for five years. He then examined his bank account and found he had on deposit $521.86. In the five years he had not a day from ill health. Three out of five of his fellow workmen had become drunkards, were worthless and were discharged.

Christian Register. Finest line of oranges in the city at the Silver Moon 12 To the People of El Dorado and surrounding country: Have you solved the problem yet, why your coal has been so full of dirt and dust? It is easily explained. You have been buying of those dealers, who advertise that they handle their coal but once. Our yards are on the Santa Fe, down town spur and we would not necessarily have to handle our coal at all, just rnn it out of the car throggh a chute into our coal bins, but we find that the oftener we handle and screen our coal, the better shape we get it in for bur customers. Send or yhone down for a ton and see how much superior it is to that you have been buying and vhile you are ordering coal, order up a bushel of corn or oats or a sack of mill feed.
