by reason of the economy practiced by the people In general, this results in the shipment of gold from England. To prevent this the Bank of England keeps advancing the rates of interest in order to prevent the flow of gold from that country. This is an evidence that the law of supply and demand is the most potent power in ragulating our trade with other countries and evidences the fact that we tire not so much dependent upon Europe for a proper gold and silver standard as we are our own power to regulate home demands for foreign commodities. If we are able, in such trying times as the whole world is now undergoing, to keep the balance of trade in our favor we need not eator to England's demands for a gold standard, If England wants a gold standard in Amorica it is evodently for their own profit that thoy sook It.
