IIRISTJA COMPANION God was not appointed as an aesthetical performance to please aud gratify man's taste, but to please and honor Him by loyalty to His Word. At Tho Turning of The Leaves. better, Several old settlers say they have never iailed to raise enough to carry them through the winter, I cannot understand why people will rent or pay big price for eastern land with a high rate of interest, when such opportunities are open as we have here. We have schools and building more every fall. Wood, posts and poles may be had for the hauling a distance of fifteen to twenty-five miles.

Last, but not least, is our church privileges. We have with us Brother T. V. Nidy, a very able and energetic man, and twenty-four members, among whom are three well informed men, Brethren Reynolds, Inman and Goodrich. Last Sunday we just had social meeting, but all seats were occupied.

Bro. Nidy has had several additions. He has appointments at various places. Now I will gladly show this land to any of the brethren you can send out. My location fee is $00.00.

The law requires one to live on the land three years, allowing five months off each year, erecting a habitable house, and breaking and farming 40 acres. Filing fee $24.00. Springfield, Colo. R. V.

Firm Foundation, Austin, Tex.

How this old world brightens As the nights grow cold! Here the leaves are crimson, There they've turned to gold, When the sons birds leave us And the north winds chill Wise old nature colors Wood and field and hill. Gorgeous, flaming sumac Vies with goldenrod: Blue and white field asters On their long stem nod. Like a long green carpet Spreads the growing wheat: Little yellow flowers Blossom at your feet. Pumpkins in the cornfield Tell Thanksgiving's near, When the world runs over With good-will and cheer. Frosty, ripe persimmons O'er the ground hangs high, Full of seed and puckers, Catch the children's eye.

All the nuts are gathersd For the winter's store; Heaps of rosy apples On the cellar floor! Dropping, dropping, dropping, Hear the acorns fall! Don't you think that Autumn Is the best of all? While the corn's a-popping And the cider flows, Old folds round the fire With the logs ablaze, Listen to the stories Told of other days. Bernice W. Kubkf. List of Preachers of Churches. of Christ For 1915.

Obituary I began issuing ''List -of. Preachers of Churches ot Christ" in 1906, and issued it annually till 1912. I am now in position to resume its publication, and hope to have copy ready for the printer by Dec. 1915. If this announcement comes under the notice of any faithful preacher whose name is not in the old list, or who has changed his address during the last two years, I would appreciate his notifying rne at once.

I would also appreciate any information concerning those who have died. I desire to make the list as full and accurate as possible. J. W. Shepherd.

Station B. R. 9. Nashville, Tenn. Baca County Colorado.

YANDLE. Mary I. Caldwell, daughter of John and M. E. Caldwell, was born in Christian 19, 1856.

She was the only sister of our esteemed and worthy brother Lon Caldwell of Springfield, Mo. On the 22nd day of August 1878 she united in marriage with J. M. Yandle, and located on a farm, near the Antioch Church of Christ soon after her marriage; where she spent thirty-three years of her wedded life, and where she reared a respectable Christian family, and from which home her funeral services were sacredly held in the presence of a large multitude of neighbors and life long iriends. Eight children blessed this union; two daughters and six sons, two of whom had preceded her to the paradise of God, and the remaining children are all worthy members of the Church of Christ.

Sister Yandle obeyed the gospel in 1885 and lived as she died, a faithful child of God. She died of cancer of the liver on the afternoon of 26. 1914; ae 58 years, 9 months and 8 days. She leaves, besides her six children, the husband of her youth, one brother and many precious relatives aud friends. The funeral sermon was preached by the writer, after which her remains were borne by brethren to the beautiful cemetery on the home farm where for a third of a century she had lived and labored.

D. XV. Nay. Our old friend and Brother in Christ, R. W.

Fox, of Springfield, writes some interesting items concerning his country, which we give below: Dear Brother in Christ: I will give you a little information concerning Baca Colo. It seems as though this country has been leased by stock concern for about twenty-five years. This account for its late development. Our crops this year were extraordinary and last year good, and the year before quite good. My crop this year consisted of corn, kaffir corn, milo maize, fetarita, cane, oats, millet and cow peas.

They all did as well as a good year in Kansas. The millet was nicer than I evsr saw in Kansas. Itmadea growth of 4 feet and many of- the heads measured nine inches in length. Alfalfa is growing on an adjoining farm. Brother Nidy, along with many others, raised 40 acres of excellent wheat.

Last year seyeral homesteads raised 25 to 30 bu, of corn per acre and this year it is even Kansas Preachers. The following is a list of Kansas preachers according to the year book put out by the Firm Foundation. It indicates that some corrections should be made, and we will glad ly make any correction reported, Allen, Tom Osage City Bell, A. Bennett, Kirby Cottonwood Falls Bixler, Roy, Ruskin, now Burlingame Boyer, J. Odessa, now Belle Plaine Brewer, W.
