A very important event in the history ot college journalism in America was the gathering of the college editors from the various parts of the county on June 22, at the World's Fair at St.

Louis. The meetings were held in the Halls of Congress and continued throughout the morning and afternoon. A representative of the Orange was present and derived much benefit from the meetings. Several papers were read, and discussions of the van ous phases of college joirnalism carried on, The debate on the Pullitzer school of Journalism, which the convention endorsed by a large vote, was particularly interesting. A vote of thanks was also extended to the manage men 01 the Fair, who accorded the college men the same courtesies as any other representative of the press.

The managers ot the Pike shows gave like recognition. In the evening the convention attended the inter state oratorical contest in a body. It is worthy ot note that the Kansas University man who won second place in the contest received the hearty applause of several Baker people present. The girl of the Nu Alpha club gave several parties during the summer, The Misses Kinzer visited during the summer with Miss Lough in Missouri. Guy Lamphear was married to Miss Bessie Vines at Ida Wednesday, July 6th. Frank Hankins, oi, visited in Baldwin -this summer, He has two more years at Columbia. He will take work in Boston next year. Rev. Hislop has resigned his position as pastor at Armourdale and will attend Drew next year. Rev. Homer Ebright will take his place in the pulpit.

A great social event of the summer was the marriage of Rev. A. E. Kirk and Miss Lulu Bar. ricklow, Wednesday, Aug.

17th. Both parties are well known to Baker students, The next three years Rev. Kirk will attend school at Boston. The Ep worth League officers for this year are: President, F. M.
