TERMS 12 months without interest if paid at maturity. If not paid when due, 10 per cent, interest will be charged from date of note.

Notwithstanding the low price paid for wheat, quite a good deal is being put on the market. The bank building still stands idle, and no effort whatever is being made to get a bank started here. A good rain is badly needed, and unless it comes soon corn will be badly damaged by dry hot weather. C. C.

Arnold's house on west Mam street is nearly completed and he will move into it some time next mouth. The city marshal would preform a righteous act if he would kill every dog in town that doesn't wear a dollar tag. If jon want to buy property in Edna apply at this office. We have some choice houses and lots for sale at a bargain. Wilson, the West Virginian, is slightly disfigured but is still the ring when it comes to a light for tariff re form.

The. Oswego Democrat will, soon be moved to Arkansas, where Mr. Land is will engage the publication of another paper. The Gray sugar investigating committee has resumed its sittings to inquire into the latest reports of speculation by Senators. Cleavland's letter to Wilson on tbe tarriff, created as big disturbance in the House as if he had thrown' a bomb among our noblemen.

Tbe House by an overwhelming majority passed a resolution to amend the constitution so as to provide for the election of Senators by direct vote of the people. Brent Bedell and W. M. Kansas Pacific bondholders have instituted suit in New York against George Gould and Russel Sago to recover $11,000,000 bonds and have Gould and Sage removed from the trusteeship of the Kansas Pacific. While there was a little misunderstanding as to place, fixtures, for the Sunday Schoool Convention which was held last Sunday, a very pleasant time was had at the Pres-by terian church, and the usual business transacted. The Liberty Twp. Sunday School Association will hold their annual picnic in Halls grove, 1 mile west of Labette City, on Saturday, August 25th. Valley, had Geo. Leggate arrested for taking his own tlour which was in his (Baldwin's) possession. The trial was set forMon-day at Md. Valley, but the county attorney seeing there was no case against Mr. Leggatte, dismissed the action, and the county, of course pays the cost.

If you want to get away with the Pop party, put wheat up to $1, per bnshel, that is the only way to do it. O. W. Elliott says he threshed 986 bushels of wheat iu six hours, on Saturday last.
