Johnson hereby states he is the owner, editor, publisher and business manager of the Salixa Sun, a newspaper published each Saturday at Salina, Kansas, and that it is not a corporation and no bonds were issued in connection therewith. The same has been duly sworn to to the Post-office department. Complete preparations are being made at the Masonic Temple for the spring meeting of the Scottish Rite bodies, April 13, 14 and 15, The lodge room is being redecorated and repainted. Dr. Fredrick H.

Smith, Potentate of North America, will be in Salina on April 16 on an official visit to Isis Temple. His home is in Rochester, Xew York. Mr. W. H.

Gressel will remove to Minneapolis to become foreman of the Messenger at that place. He has shipped his furniture and will go ihere Monday with his family. Mr. Gressel has been employed on the Lincoln Republican and came to Salina early in the winter. He has helped us on The Sun and has been employed on the Union.

A. FIEMIXC, ATTOK NEY- AT- LAW, ed by this sign: "Hot chocolate." "Grandma" Coburn Dies. Mrs. Jane Coburn, familiarly known to many in Salina as "Grandma" Co-burn, died Wednesday morning at 1 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Warren Knaus, at McPherson.

She was yi years old the 11th of last November. She has lived with her daughter the past five or six years. Jane Cox was born in the north part of Ireland and lived there until 1848, when she went to New York City with an uncle where her brother and sister were living. In 1853 she married Joseph Coburn; who died 28 years ago Mr. Coburn was from the same part of Ireland as Msr.

Coburn. In 18-5Z with a party of friends Mr. and Mrs. Coburn came to Kansas. They went to Leavenworth where Mr.

Coburn started the first flouring mill there. Thea came to Saline county four years later and took a homestead five miles south and east of Salina. Mrs. Coburn left three daughters: Mrs. Ella Lord Crain of Garland, Montana; Mrs.

Rena Phillips of New kirk, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Warren Knaus, of McPherson. The body was brought to Salina for burial and the funeral was held Friday morning from the Presbyterian church of which the deceased had long been a member. In the absence of the pastor, Dr. A.
