Christmore an enegetic and prosperous young farmer of the Trenton neighborhood and Miss Ada. Drumheller of near Altamont were united in marriage by Judge W. W. Thompson, at Oswego Feb. 22nd.

The bride comes from one of the best families in Mount Pleasant township. She is the youngest daughter of W. H. Drumheller and is very in church affairs. She is one who possesses all the good qualities SO essential in establishing a new home.

The groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Christmore.

He is a graduate of the common schools and also a graduate of the Labette county high school. From early boyhood he has been a hustler and is an extensive' land owner but it is his ambition to follow some other line of work aside from farming. The many friends of the happy young couple extend to them the heartiest, congratulations and wishes. Will Engage In Business. Ernest Preston, has leased the Hunt building just north of the Implement store, and will engage in the poultry and produce business and will also buy hides.

He will be ready for business Saturday morning and proposes to pay the top market price. Mr. Preston, as a trusted employee of several stores in Edna, knows how to handle produce and will be in a position to locate the best markets and in turn pay you the best possible prices; He would like for you to get his prices Saturday before selling your chickens and eggs. Baptist Exchange. The Ladies of the Baptist church will hold an Exchange in at Woolard store on Mar.

5th. There will be various good things to eat and besides dressed hens, there will be live hens tor sale. Every body is invited to come and buy soinething for their Sunday dinner. The best cure for spring fever is to come into Rich l'ilton's and pick out your fishing tackle: then go try themout. Local Masonic Order Entertains.

From the compliments that we hear on the streets by local Masons, we feel assured that a general good time was had Tuesday evening of this week, when Chetopa Lodge conferred the Master Mason degree upon James I. Wester. Chetopa Lodge No. 73 was here thirty five, strong. A number from Coffeyville, and several visiting brethern from other Masonic Lodges, over the States were also in attendance, bringing the total number to about one hundred.

Jesse R. Sigsbee of Keystone Lodge No. 102 from Coffeyville who is one of the most active Masons in this part of Kansas and who has seen and heard a goodly number of degrees conferred by various lodges over the country, certainly paid Chetopa Lodge No. 73 a very high compliment as to the of their work, and especially to Worshipful Master Edmundson. Bro.

Sigsbee also gave a very instructive and impressive lecture at the close of work, which seldom is heard by Masons. After the work, every one present indulged in a very hearty "feed" of oyster "stu" and other things that go along with it. Lost a Toe. While chopping wood last Fri: day afternoon, John Foxworthy living 6 miles south of Edna, had the misfortune to lose a toe on his right foot. Accidentally striking a limb causd the axe to glance, and the blade struck in such a US to completely sever the second toe.

John has been playing in hard luck of late, as he fell a wagon in January and broke an arm. Birthday Surprise. Last Sunday was F. I. birthday and more than a score of relatives, old and young came in and gave him the surprise of his life The birthday dinner was simply great in variety and there was an abundance of everything.

Those present were, Frank Wise and family, John Goble and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Storm of near Coffeyville, and S. J. Wise and family C.

S. Carlton and daughter Miss Etta of Edna. Mrs. Bessie E. Neal, wife of J.

S. Neal of East Elm Grove townshipf died Feb. 26th, and was laid to rest in the Walker cemetery Sunday afternoon. She was 39 years old and had resided in the vicinity of Edna for the past 12 years. Given a Pleasant Surprise.

Mrs. J. S. Neal Dead. One of the items overlooked the past week, was the surprise given Mrs.

Sarah Storm, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. I. Wester, on Sunday Feb. 20th.

Mrs. Storm was 74 years old on that day and children and grand children came in until there was a housefull. A big dinner at the noon hour was a feature that was greatly enjoyed. Those present were, Edma Storm and family, Will Storm and family, Ivan Storm and family, J. I.

Wester and family, Mrs. Emma Holten and daughter Ruth, all of in and near Edna, and Mrs. Geo. Beattie of Lenepah. Uncle Tom Show Goes to The Wall.

With the attractive title, "When Do We Eat? in which beautiful Enid Bennett, as Nora, plays the leading part in this Paramount picture to be shown at the Liberty theatre Saturday night. This is a story of the middle west and opens with'a disastrous experience in the history of a traveling Uncle Tom show. The show stranded and the sheriff came in and arrested the whole company just as little Eva is going up to Heaven on a white sheet. She slaps the hayseed official, makes her escape in a box car, and when a tramp enters she jumps off at small town, falls into a romance, head off a bank robbery, restores to the bank $300 her lover, the cashier loses in a poker game. This is the funniest show in months and you should not miss it.
