Soldiers' Home. The committee on the location of a Soldiers' Home west of the Mississippi river, authorized by a late act of Congress, will meet in Kansas City on Wednesday evening next at 6 o'clock. We understand some of the citizens of Lawrence will meet the committee at that time. The committee will take a tour of the State, as we understand, for the purpose ot selecting an eligible site for a soldiers' home. We are not informed how much land will be required, but whatever is necessary for this purpose, will be paid for by the Government.

We know of no reason why Lawrence might not furnish all that will be necessary, so far as eligibility goes, and we respect fully urge our citizens to be on the alert, and not let this opportunity ge by default. We cannot say when this committee will come to Lawrence, but that it will be here we are assured.
