iL. iL. B. 3avariess, Editor Visitor: In the "College Column" of the Criterion, issue of Feb. 5th, we notice a communication which is by no means in harmony with the best interests of our town.

We have seen quite a number of the booming towns of Kansas, and feel free to say that Baldwin is not only a moral town, but that it has as large a percentum of intelligent, industrious and energetic men as any town in Kansas, or elsewhere. For a few years past there has been erected in Baldwin a better class of houses, taken all in all, than in any other town in the state. There is considerable sidewalk already built in Baldwin, and more building, and ere this article is made public a meeting will already have been held for the purpose of adopting measures for building a sidewalk from Baldwin to Media. Baldwinjis a "moral" town, and we are glad that her citizens are not ashamed to put it forward as one of her cardinal virtues. This is one of the Co.
