THE HIGH SCHOOL ORACLE. IO eral hilarity of the occasion. All report a pleasant time, and hope to go again. Ninth Grade Notes. Note the alliteration in this caption.

Hannah Peart was absent last Thursday. The United States History Class is studying about the Civil War. The Ninth Grade enjoyed a series of written tests at the close of last month. Ethel Drew and Edna Schell have been absent a few days this month on account of sickness. The sunshine comes in at the windows of the recitation room and causes some annoyance.

It has been suggested that we close the blinds but there are no blinds. Maude Wilkin has been compelled to miss school on account of sickness, but we are glad to welcome her among us again. One boy in the Civil Government Class aspires to the presidential chair and if he reaches it, is going to show us how to be economical. The Zoology Class must have been extraordinarily busy or they surely would not have permitted a Junior to catch a frog for their use. The Latin Class is working very diligently on the declension of pronouns and the conjugation of verbs.

The undivided attention is very essential. About three evenings out of the week groups of pupils may be seen coming down the hill after school. Of course, these must be Juniors, as the Seniors never miss a word in spelling, hever. Some of the Juniors were very much vexed because they did not receive their colors before the first meeting of the society. We waited very patiently, knowing that all 'things come to him who waits.

4 While the Middles are advising we would like to say this for their benefit: ''If you would have a thing well done you must do it yourself You must not leave it to others:" Apply to those Algebra problems. The Class held a meeting Thursday evening. It was thought that the Juniors were very much in need of recreation and, after an animated discussion, a hay-rack ride was decided upon for the following evening. Harold Snoddy furnished a team. Richard Hepworth a wagon, and Howard Oliphant a driver.

The Juniors thought themselves honored because Mr. Holtz accompanied them and joined in the gen Grammar Room Notes. Misses Lottie Ford and Pearl Cabbage are the pianists for the Grammar Grade. The Eighth Grade possesses some excellent vocal talent in the line of baritone and contralto. Our rhetorical exercises were postponed until Friday, November 16, but not on account of the election.

The Geography Class is rambling about Europe this mouth and is making some rapid strides in the attainment of geographical knowledge. Current events every Monday morning afford excellent opportunity in our grade for the coming orators to display their ability. All the live topics of the day are interestingly related and enthusiastically discussed..
