According to Mrs Grady, he arose about 1 o'clock yesterday morning and took a dose of something he had purchased on one ot his trips. About 5 o.clock the family noticed that his condition was alarming and Dr. C. E. Mo Adams and Dr.

The two physicians worked with their patient until about 9:39 o'clock but nothing could be done, as the case resisted their efforts; and the patient gradually sank until 10 o'clock, when he died." The law provides that all oil and' gas leases in Indian Territory must be approved by the secretary of the Interior before becoming effective. Consequently' Mr. Hitchcock has entire discretion In the matter, lie has instructed the Indian ageut that each lessee must have avalllable for carrying out the terns of his lease, for every 160 acres or fraction thereof. Acting upon these instructions, the Indirn agent requires that there must be iiied with every lease an oath of lessee that he has the $5,000 available and ready for operation, and a certificate of lessee showing that he has that amonnt on hand in bank subject to check. The object of these regulations is, as the department explains it, to discourage speculation by irresponsible parties, by insisting upon proof of the oona fide intention to drill a hole.

His physicians, however, made a careful examination and pronounced his death due to the bnrsting of a blood vessel.

Coroner Cooper went to Arkansas City, and also made a careful investigation. Nebraska democrat state convention Wednesday reaffirmed the Kansas City platform, and chose Bryan to head delegation to the national convention. The delegation is uninstructed under the unit rule. The Michigan delegates elected are uninstructed; but are classed as anti Hearst. The unit rule was adopted which cuts out the few district Hearst de'egates. Georgia instructed it delegates for Parker under the unit rule.

The Oklahoma convention Wednesday reaffirmed the Kansas City platform and instructed Its delegates to work in harmo-wlth the democracy of the two preceeding national campaigns. The delegates and resolutions are favorable to the Bryan wing of the democrat party. W. F. Ward and will conduct the same.
