Wm. Radford presented us with a line sample of Early Rose potatoes on last Saturday. They were the largest we have seen this season, and are a great credit to the country. The man who says we 'cannot raise potatoes in Montgomery county either badly mistaken or well we will say It lies. There was a gentleman here from Joplin one day this week, who came with a view of starting a bank, but finding that Capt.

Ewing would in a few weeks be ready to open Ins bank, took his departure, but we understand that he is negotiating with Mr. Ewihg for his building, with what success we have not heard. Owing to the ill-success in gathering facts relative to the life of the late Mrs. J. M.

Courtney; our obituary ribtice will be delayed until next week. We will state, however, that she died Eureka Springs, Arkansas, July 14, at 3 p. just 14 years to an hour since her marriage to Mr. Courtney. She was buried at Eureka.
