Hon. O. F. Carson gave us a Tery interesting description of his trip to Kansas City July 3.

He hit the nail on the head by taking the regular train on the morning of the 2 instead of waiting for the excursion train, as the latter did not reach Kansas City until 3 o'clock in the afternoon of the Cd, and not until erery-thing worth seeing had transpired. There must have been a screw loose somewhere about the management of that excursion train. Cant. Ewino. editor of the Thaver TTond- fiST" J.

We have seen it copied by several of our exchanges, and used as a leader to a local in their paper spurring their people up to cleanliness, etc. Now, look here fellows, we are not in the rhyming business, but if you like om doggerel and want to use it just give us credit. Don't clamp as poor an article as that or you'll go to hell on ac count of lack of judgment, to say nothing about your just punishment for stealing. Besides knowing that newspapers are the best means for advertising, and how to pick out the best newspapers for his purpose, the successful advertiser fully appreciates the great importance of persistent advertising.

Mr. Bryant used to say that the great influence of the press depends for one thing upon its power of reiteration. Presenting the same subject in many forms, it finally wins attention and acquiescence. Used in this thorough and systematic way, the advertising columns of the newspapers are as useful and essential to the merchant, as means of telling the public what he has to sell, as the clerks behind the counter are to show his goods when the people come to examine them. ftzj cultivation; 150 fruit treis; two wells of soft water; log house; kitchen; all except 5 acres good tillable upland.

Mr. J. M. Richardson has just returned from a two months trip to Colorada, and he is free to state that Cherry Valley is the garden spot of the world. He left Cherryvale about May 1, and went to Denver, remaining there but a few days.

Breckenridge was the next point in Colorado he visited, and there or within a few miles of the place he encountered quite a severe snow storm. This was a diabolical change, and it convinced Mr. Richardson of two things: First, that tramping oyer the mountains in a blinding snow storm, all alone, and six or seven hundred miles away from home, might be considered 'very romantic and even poetical, not to say grand, by novel writers and Colorado puffers, but to a man who had just left the most genial and healthy portion of sunny Kansas it was like a shower bath of iee-needles from the coldest corner ot the Arctic seas. Secondly, that a man must have a pair of lungs like a blacksmith's bellows or an elephant to stand the racket at that high altitude. It is not necessary for us to ay tbatfthe higher Mr.

Richardson climbed the Colorado mountains, the higher Cherryvale "and our rich and beautiful valley rose in his estimation; his presence among us and strongly stated resolutions to stick to Cherryvale from now on, is sufficient evidence on that point. We are glad to welcome Mr Richardson home Connections are made at Union Depot at all une ion Points.lviz St. Louis, Mo. Vinita, I. T.
