22 to March 21st. John will spend the time intervening with the old folks at Logansport, Ind. Joseph F. Murphy, Co. has been promoted 1st class.

Brigadier General Frederick Fun-ston, U. S. Army, has been relieved from duty as commandant at the Army Service Schools to take effect at such time as will enable him to sail for his new station, the Division of the Philippines, on the transport scheduled to sail from San Francisco on Feb. si 191 1. General Funston will be in command of the Department of Luzon.

Brigadier General Ramsey B. Potts, S. Army, now in command of the Department of Luzon, P. it is understood, will be the new head of the schools here. General Potts will in all probability round out a notable military career at this post as he will reach the retirement for age period in 1914.
