We took a stroll over the city last Sunday, and were not a little surprised to note the number and class of improvements that haye been made during the past year, or since last spring. S. AV.Giffin. The pretties thing we have seen for a long time is the real old German style Christmas tree at the home of A. Buch. It is surrounded by, and full of, every nice toy and little gift, calculated to please children, as it really does.

We should estimate the cost at, not less than, twenty dollars. Friend Buch just knows how to get up such beauties. -The children's meeting, at the M. E. Church last Monday evening, was a grand success.

There was a very large attendance. The exercises were all good and quite interesting. The presents were very numerous and almost endless in variety. The school, led by Gertie Flemming at the organ, discoursed most excellent music. The reading, and in fact, all the performances of the school were praiseworthy and appreciative.

It was a feast of. love, joy and good things for young ones, and none seemed to bo more interested than they. The only regret seemed to be that Christmas times were so soon over. It was indeed a Merry Christmas evening. C.
