TO The Stni' lias been called Harris' "Organ." Well, if it is, It lias played its last tune. The Kansas City, Star was beaten in its dirty, contemptible fight, on Governor Hocli oh, well, the Star has been beaten so regularly in nil of its fights that it is used to It now, and don't mind it. will be claimed, of course, by the church people that the heavy Harris vote voiced the "law enforcement" proposition, but let lis sec. Whore did Mr. Harris receive his heaviest vote? He received it in the large; titles where Governor Hoch attempted to do his duty by the appointment' of Assistant Attorney Generals in an honest effort to enforce the prohibition law, but who failed to close the joints because they didn't know how. It is true that the joints- have been closed in this county under the aide administration of Mr. Trickett, but it has been but a recent thing, but, in those other counties where an effort was made to enforce the law, and where Governor Hoch was so consistently "rewarded" for his effort, the attorneys who were appointed had not discovered Mr.

Trickott's method of closing them, and consequently failed in their effort and were removed or resigned. This shows conclusively that the liquor element, believing in the Democratic principle of "pure whisky and lots of it," supported Mr. Harris believing that he was not, sincere in his pledges of "law enforcement," while' the church people, hoodwinked by the Kansas City Star, in its fight, against the brewers, uneoii-ciously joined with the liquor element in an attempt to punish Governor Hoch for attempting to enforce the law, but where the movement, failed because of the incompetency of the men appointed in the different counties to enforce the law, and failed. Hut, speaking of this "law enforcement." proposition, it is certainly a funny proposition. Why, we know men here in Wyandotte County, ery-' ing for "law enforcement," who never willingly enforced or obeyed a law in their' lives, and there were others crying for law enforcement, because they thought if (he law was enforced, and the joints were closed all over the State; that the prohibition law would be resubmitted and saloons would be permitted to run by anyone who had price of a license; and still there vere others working for the election ot Mr.
