Several of the old soldiers and their families went to Emporia Monday to attend a camp lire. They re-poit a very enjoyable time and were served with abundant refreshments after the speaking. Mr. Angel Davis and Miss Jennie Gossett, both of this place, were married in Emporia last Saturday. They have commenced house keeping in the Camper property.

We wish them a long and happy life. The Salvation army held meetings here for the past four weeks at the Free Methodist church. They had large audiences every evening, a larcre number not being able io gain admittance. Many people were attracted by their peculiar dress, others by the drum and tamborine and especially in a church whose doors are closed against an organ. A German by the name of Joe Haas, who has been working for his brother-in-law, Paul Kuhrt, who resides a few miles south of Olpe, was arrested at Cottonwood Falls last Saturday afternoon on the charge of stealing about $700 in money and securities from the latter named gentleman. Kipp, a lady about sixty years of age, who lives eight miles southeast of Olpe, was driving in a wagon with her husband when they came to a bad place in the road which overturned the vehicle, breaking both arms of the aged lady.
