Funeral services were held at the Christian church, and interment was made in the Hartford cemetery. The Workman had charge. Mr. Pennybaker was born in Jonesboro, in 1857 He came to Kansas in 1878 and located near Hartford. In 1885 he married Miss Lucy Peyton, who survives him with two sons.
