CAME TO I'DALL IN 187O The death of Mrs Robb marks the passing of one of the earliest families of this community. Samuel Robb came here with his family in 1870 and home- steaded a claim two miles east of Udall It was a pioneer country then. The railroad was built through here and the town of Udall started in 1881, eleven years after the settlement here of the Robb family, The old homestead is in other hands now, but the little old one room house still stands. The house was built of roughly hewn cottonwood by the claim taker himself. Though in later years the little hut has fallen into a delapidated condition.

Mrs Robb is said to have often expressed her wish in her latter days, when in the heat of summer her little town house was un comfortably warm, that she might be permitted again to sit in the shade of the little old home on the prairie slope and feel the soothing embrace of the prairie breeze as in yesteryear. Mrs Robb is spoken of by her neigh bors ot thirty ana lorty years as a wo man of kindness, patience and charity, it being said of her that she was never known to speak ill ot anyone, She was one of the best loved of the few first pioneers who remain.
