The total attendance for the year was 930. There are 03 juniors. This ought to insure a graduating class of 50 for the coming year. The increase in the enrollment in the Normal department over that of 1882 is 522. Nearly 250 of the students were holders of first or second grade teachers' certificates, on entering.

-Nettie Spiers, of '88, will teach at her home in Lyons the coming year. Miss Price teaches in the Lyon couuty insti tuteinjime and will spend the rest of the time rusticating. Miss Spencer will teach in the Coffey county institute in July and will spend the rest of the time at home in the city. -E. Kauffman, of '85.

Goodman ot 1890, has found his sweetheart the cottage by the sea and last weak united the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Shannon at a city on the Pacific coast.

-Chas. Sorter, of '85, came in for the contest on Saturday evening and stayed through the week. Mr. Sortor enters the ministry this year. He has the best wishes of a host of friends.

-Maude Stewart of '88, is giving excellent satisfaction as teacher in the Asylum for Imbecile Youth at Winfield. Her superintendent is an old The program for the State Teachers' Association next December is already out. Twelve thousand copies will be distributed among the summer institutes. All persons who pay for the History of the Normal School before August, is will i entitled to the Quarterly for the coming year tree. Send in order and cash at once.

If every reader of this paragraph will be kind enough to send names of young men and women who are contemplating attending school somewhere next year, to the President of the State Normal School, Emporia, Kansas it will be considered a favor. The scholarly and much praised addresses of Presidents Kellogg, Hoss, and Welch delivered on Wednesday evening will be printed in the History of the Normal School. Remember that all orders must be sent in at peisouai rnena or Taylor. -Miss Achsah Harris, of '86, will teach in the model intermediate next year as assistant. Her work will in the main be little different from that which Miss Stephenson has been doing.

William Price was among "sixty-fivers" who come in to see how the Normal has grown He made many warm friends on every hand, beside renewing pleasant acquaintances of days of yore. -Olive Willett, of '88, was in for the closing exercises of the literary societies on Friday night, but went to Lawrence on Saturday. -Governor aud Mrs. Humphrey came in on the afternoon train on Thursday. They held an impromptu reception in the president's room and later in the evening the Governor made a short address which was most heartily applauded. They were the guests of Hon. and Airs.
