A subscription paper was circulated last Saturday in Wellington for the benefit of R.

M. Hastie, the farmer living near Perth whose barn was burned the week before. About $100 was raised. He appears to have one enemy--but many friends. SPARR, Manager. The county Alliance held a live meeting on Thursday of last week at Wellington. There was a good attendance and much interest manifested. The meeting was addressed by W. S.

Hanna, of Ottawa, and Alonzo Wardell, of Topeka. Mr. Hendee, representing the Topeka Advocate, was present and secured many sub. scribers for that great educational and encouraging leader of the Kansas reform press. A number of resolutions were passed; but the VOICE has been unable, so far, to secure a copy of them.
