The idea is a good one, and there is every reason to believe, if a central place like' Put-in-Pay were an excel- lent program for a week providing le ctures, tennis, golf, base ball, fishing, boating, a club with a membership of 1,000 can be organized for the first 'outing.

ALL MUST HELP. A fraternal order is mutual, and its success depends upon the the active co-operation of every member. Not many, but occasionally one who happens to hold an office in the Supreme Council or in a subordinate council is prone to imagine he-has no other work to do than that required of him as an officer, even though the office requires but little time. It is to be regretted that all do not realize that we as an Order must 00 forward, to stand still means going backward; we must go forward, and now is the time, while we are young and can prosper with comparitively little effort provided we all work, and that we have no drones, either in the Supreme or subordinate councils. TO ALL WHO MAY NEED PROTECTION.

Permit me to thank you and through you The Modern Knights for the very satisfactory settlement of the $3000 Benefit Certificate held by my late husband H. Miller, a member of Madison Council No. cS6. I heartily recommend the Order to all who may need protection for themselves and families. September 13, 1897.
