the absence of her husband Rev. Holmes has made arrangements for the set of scenes entitled A Trip Through India, Japan and Africa," and will again in the near future give this community another treat with the stereopticon. The date and full particulars will be announced through the paper Rev. Holmes promised to treat the people to two illustrated sermons, "The Prodigal Son," and "The Lifeuf David," on Friday and Saturday nights of this week. The promised missionary tour is still to be given in the near future, the scenes having all arrived iu 'good shape, and a good opening for its delivery is only awaited The stereopticon views, illustrative of Bible scenes and incidents, given at the M.

E. church Monday and Tuesday nights by Rev. J. A. Holmes were good, and the audience on Tuesday night expressed its approval of that kind of preaching by a liberal collection, more than making up Rev.

Holmes' whole outlay which he had made for the scenes. The house was packed to its utmost capacity and great interest was manifested in the meeting. Large numbers came forward to the altar nightly, and a general awakening is taking place among lukewarm Christians and backsliders. Meeting is announced for over next week, and may continue for considerable longer The South Haven dancing club has succumbed to the effects of the protracted mating, an! the bays notified the proprietor that the hall would not be nee led for the next regular meeting. A few of the boys ae still standing out in the cold world shivering around in a lonesome, isolated way, but nary a girl can they fin I to dance with them; and if the wholesome influence of the revival continues long with those who have mide the stait, the boys will either have to jin in with them in the new cause in which they have enlisted, or continue to graze on the husks mittee made up from the three churches.

Let everybody enter into the spirit of the occasion and be present to lend their influence and assistance in the service. The meeting at the M. E. church has now been in progress over seven weeks, and will still be continued indefinitely, Rpv. Holmes making the announcement that so long as the people continue to manifest a desire to be converted, he will continue to preach, if it takes all winter.

The interest is of the very best and new converts come forward nightly. We don't know how many conversions there hive been; the preacher says he don't know, but presumes the recording ang-l is keeping accurate account of the proceedings. As he is not accessible to an interview, however, our source of information is cut off and we bow to the inevitable. Roll of Honor, South Haven E. Sunday school Mrs.

E. church will continue over Sunday and possibly longer. The interest continues unabated young men, oil mea and middle aged men, girls, young Udies and those in the decline of life, arise nightly and acknowledge the goodness of God an I their depen-dance upon Him, nnd re-affirming their allegiance to His cause. The outlook for a better condition of things religio is, in our community, is most excellent and there is general rejoicing at the fact amonrjj the faithful of all denominations who have been earnestly conten ling without percept-able results, against the tide of immorality and rowdyism that has swept over our community for a number of months. May the good work continue The people of South Haven and vicinity have many things to be thankful for, and above all other things their hearts should be "filled with rejoiciug over the religio is wave that is sweeping over the community and bringing so many into a clearer conception of their duties both toward God and their fellow man.

Rev. Holmes being the only pastor in South Haven has consented to preach a Thanksgiving sermon next Thursday at 11 o'clock at the M. E. church, at which time it is requested that every business man in town and everybody else, will lay aside their work and come out and participate in the services. There are a few persons in the community, and but very few, we are pleased to say, on their own accounts and as a matter of local pride, who need assistance, and all persons who feel like contributing to the relief of the unfortuuate ones, can bring such gifts of necessaries or money to the church as they may feel like giving, and they will be distributed judiciously by a com.
