W.J. lL--lELi, Pastor, milk and honey." It is no uncommon thing to hear We have heard manj- farmers express themselves upon the crop question and in every case insist that this county has not been so universly favored for many years.

Corn is in the best of condition and already farmers are claiming their fields will average from 40 to CO bushels per acre and the yield of small grain lias been surprisingly large. In fact their is no scarcity so far reported in any product and our people feel as though they were among the favored this year. Xot only do they expect a bountiful harvest but expect good prices for what they have raised. We would like to say just here, that Cherokee county is classed as one of the wealthiest counties in the state and is not bothered with hot winds but can be depended upon each j-ear for a reasonable good crop; while her many mines turn out thousands of dollars each month which nat-urly makes every thing more prosperous and our people more of wheat yielding- 2.1 bu. per acre this j-ear.
