Therefore be sure and preserve this notice and Blank Proxy, so you can use the 1 blank in case you cannot attend the Annual Meeting.

PROXIES SENT IN All Parties holding any Proxies they expect to use at the Annual Meeting, will please file them with the Secretary on or before January 10th, 1904, so they can be examined and placed on file before the meeting. Notice is hereby given that the Annual meeting of the NATIONAL MUTUAL INSURANCE ASSOCIATION, of Pittsburg, Kansas, will be held at Pittsburg, Tuesday, January 12th, 1904, at 1 o'clock p. for the election of 5 members for the "Hoard of Directors, and the transaction of such other business as may properly come before it. The call for the Annual Meeting given above is issued in accordance with the requirements of the State Law governing Mutual Insurance Companies which is as follows: (Chapter 74, Sec. 141, Genl. Statutes Kansas, 1897) Annual Meeting. The Annual meeting shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in in each year at the principal office of the Company; and every person Insured shall be entitled to as many votes as there are directors to be elected, and an equal additional number for each five hundred in the Company (after the first five Hundred dollars) and may cast the same in person or by proxy, distributing them among the same or a less number of candidates to be elected, or concentrating them upon one candidate, as he may think fit; and a plurality shall elect; Provided that no members shall hold and use the Proxies of more than twenty-five Policy Holders You see by the provisions of the law that you are a member of this Association ana entitled to be present and vote In person, and if it is rot convenient for you to be present, at the meeting, please be eure to fill out the blank below appointing some one as your Proxy, who will be present and represent you. We would like to have each represented at the Annual Meeting by one or more members, or delegates, but the law makes no provision for defraying their expenses, and if they come It would necessarily be at the expense of the Individual or of the Council.

In case ZSR ave no one else 1 would suggest that you appoint one of the Brethren living in Pittsburg, that will be sure to be present. The board of Directors elect the officers and have the general management of the affairs of the association.
