From the Chase Record: Quite a fine present of a gold watch and chain was made by Mr. Ernect Spechtto each of his nieces, Miss Florence and Josie Specht. Frank Eatinger, who lives in the valley, south of Chase, shelled 4,000 bushels of corn the other day. Not very bad for a dry season. John Kline, south of town, lost two head of cattle, and came very near los- ing a third one, the other day.
